The purpose of the research was to generalize the experience of identification and accounting of cattle in the Republic of Tatarstan in accordance with the Law of the Russian Federation "On Veterinary Medicine". The procedure for the identification and registration of animals is defined by the Law of the Russian Federation "On Amendments to the Law of the Russian Federation "On Veterinary Medicine" and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation", the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 23.04.2023 and the Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of 22.04.2016 No. 16. An interdepartmental working group has been established in the Republic of Tatarstan to introduce a unified system of registration and accounting of animals on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, training of specialists of the state veterinary service has been conducted, 75.4 % of the livestock of cattle in the agro-industrial complex and 5.67 % in the personal.
